Selecting a counsellor:

Each counsellor has unique training and experience so finding the right counsellor for you is important to the over-all success of your counselling experience with Walmsley. You may prefer to select a counsellor by looking at their biographies on-line or follow the suggestion of our Client Services Representatives who will make a recommendation based on your preferences.

If you already have a counsellor:

You may contact the counsellor directly to set up another appointment.

If you are either:

Calling for the first time, re-activating service or wanting to change counsellors our client services representatives will be pleased to take your call and match you with the counsellor of your choice.

We will ask you:

  • First and last name
  • Telephone numbers, permission to call and leave a message
  • Your address, permission to send you correspondence
  • Your employer and if you are covered by an Employee Assistance Program (under no circumstances will your name be released to your employer without your permission).
  • In some cases, employers ask that we report your union.
  • In one or two words, the general reason why you are coming (ie: depression, anxiety, relationship, etc). This is so the counsellor has some idea why you are there).
  • Some calls will go through to our voice mail or answering service when our lines are busy. We have found that people prefer to leave a voice message rather than get a busy signal. Under normal circumstances we can return a call within one hour.

Online Counselling Services

Client Services Representatives

Our client services representatives answer the incoming calls and would be pleased to assist you to obtain further information and to answer your questions. They will take the time to match you with a counsellor that suits your individual needs and the counsellor’s therapeutic background and availability.
